Human-Centred Support & Community Development

Lived experience.
System change.
Human first.

Salus supports individuals, organisations, charities, CICs, and community groups to create meaningful, person-centred change through lived experience, collaboration, and practical support.

Led by Jamie Robson, Salus works at the intersection of lived experience and system change, helping strengthen services, build inclusive communities, and ensure the voices of the people most affected remain at the centre of decision-making.

Our work spans individual support, community development, organisational improvement, facilitation, wellbeing, and engagement, providing practical solutions that empower people, strengthen organisations, and create lasting social impact.

Who is Salus Advisory?

I'm Jamie Robson, the practitioner behind Salus Advisory.

Salus is my independent community support and development practice, built upon lived experience, professional development, and several years of supporting individuals, groups, organisations, and communities across the wellbeing sector in Walsall, UK.

Over the past three years, I've worked extensively within Community Interest Companies (CICs), facilitating peer support groups, community activities, wellbeing initiatives, and lived experience-led projects. This has involved supporting people facing a wide range of challenges, including mental health difficulties, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ exclusion, social isolation, identity-related challenges, and barriers to accessing services and opportunities.

Alongside my professional experience, I bring personal lived experience of navigating adversity, including challenges relating to neurodiversity, mental health and wellbeing, and LGBTQ+ experiences. These experiences have shaped my belief that meaningful support begins with understanding, dignity, and genuine human connection, particularly where people encounter systems that are not always designed with their needs in mind.

I continue to develop my practice through ongoing training and professional supervision in areas including safeguarding, mental health awareness, suicide prevention, co-production and co-design, community engagement, wellbeing support, and person-centred practice.

The foundation of Salus is simple: people are the experts in their own lives. Whether working alongside an individual, supporting a community group, or helping an organisation develop more inclusive ways of working, my aim is to create practical pathways forward, strengthen participation, and ensure lived experience is recognised as a valuable source of knowledge, insight, and positive change.

Above all, I believe support should be human, accessible, collaborative, and grounded in real-world experience.

Professional Support & Continuous Development

Although Salus is an independent practice, I do not work in isolation.

I am fortunate to work alongside a trusted network of professionals, practitioners, community leaders, and organisations who provide guidance, challenge, insight, and support where appropriate. This includes people with expertise across mental health, safeguarding, community development, wellbeing, education, lived experience practice, and the voluntary and community sector.

Alongside ongoing professional supervision, continued learning, and reflective practice, these relationships help ensure my work remains accountable, informed, and focused on delivering safe, effective, and person-centred support.

I believe good practice means recognising the limits of your own knowledge and knowing when to collaborate, seek specialist advice, or connect someone with services better placed to meet their needs. Working across organisations and professional networks is often essential to achieving the best outcomes for the people and communities we support.

Where someone's needs fall beyond my scope of practice, I will always work to signpost or refer them to the most appropriate professionals, organisations, or services.

Salus may be independent, but it is strengthened by a wider network of experience, knowledge, and trusted professional relationships. Collaboration is at the heart of how I work, ensuring people receive the right support from the right people at the right time.
